Skipper was one of the most determined field setters we have ever had, with energy that knew no bounds.  He was a beautiful boy.  He escaped from a car by rolling the auto window down and ran onto the freeway ramp and was instantly killed. 

Unfortunately, one of the hazards of this breed is their ability to run fast far and long with poor recall when they are determined.  Despite every precaution, tragedies do happen.
