How You Can Help

Do you ever wake up in the morning and think "another boring day with nothing to do!" Well, we can totally help you out of your rut. Birddog rescue has many things you can do to help get these beautiful dogs to safety and into loving homes!!

1. Foster a dog. If you have a fenced in yard and love and patience to give to a dog in need, we want to hear from you!! Many times we are unable to rescue dogs from the shelter because we have nowhere for them to go. Fostering is a rewarding and life changing experience!!
2. Sponsor a dog!! When we rescue a dog, we have no idea what condition they are in, and typically, they have been neglected and as a result, need quite a bit of vet care. We have a lot of vet bills, and if we can't pay them, we can't take in new dogs. Sponsoring a dog directly saves lives!!
3. Have a fundraiser. Its a great way to meet people, organize a project you can be proud of, and accomplish something great while doing a positive thing for the community and the dogs around you. Being committed to a good cause is contagious and brings people together!!
4. Donate items. We are always in need of things to make the foster parents job a little easier. Things like leashes, food, collars, beds, crates, Heartguard and toys are always in demand. Semd donated items to OESR P.O. Box 82459 Columbus Ohio 43202 
5. Transport a dog. We are constantly transporting dogs, to foster homes from shelters, to adoptive homes, etc. Usually taking part in a transport requires and hour or two of driving the dog on one leg of his/her journey. You get to meet cool dogs and cool people and maybe see a town you've never seen before.
6. Use your imagination. Contact us if you would like to be pressed into service for the good of some really sweet dogs who could use some human kindness. A lot of times, it is the first kindness they have really experienced, and they sure do love you for it!
7. DONATE!! Why not send a donation in someone's name for their birthday, anniversary, whatever? The dogs will thank you.

9. Come Help at Events we are constantly going to events and need people to pick up dogs to bring, set up tables, organize things. I am not an organized person so this is a real help.
10. Take dogs to their vetting appts/grooming/etc if you have open days we can use you! Getting a lot of different dogs to their appointments can be tough, as most of us, including myself, also work full time jobs.
11. Send us your UPC codes! Many dog food companies have programs for breeders/rescues. When a certain number of bags of dog food are purchased, we can send in UPC (scanning) labels to get either free bags of dog food or coupons. We are enrolled in the food programs for the following brands: Nutro, Avoderm, Eukanuba, Orijin, Arcana, EVO, and Iams. Each program has different requirements, but to help, all you have to do is send us your UPC labels taped to a photocopy (or original) of the receipt.
