We retain the right to refuse adoption

We do not hold dogs!!

  • We are happy to discuss any dog with you, but WE WILL NOT HOLD DOGS
  • Please refer to the website profile for info on the dog you are interested in it is as complete as we can make it.  We are happy to answer a question that is not addressed, but please respect the fact that we are volunteers and work full time and have families.
  • We do this strictly as a voluntary service.  Our goal is to find the best home for any given dog.  Until you receive an adoption contract and written confirmation that you are approved for a dog, your application is not completed.

We try to be as honest and open as possible as to the dogs personality, temperament, etc. However, it is impossible to know exactly how a dog is going to act once in your home. Adopting a rescue dog means making a commitment to that dog for the long haul. Many issues a dog may have resolve after spending some time in a loving, committed, patient home, but please remember your rescue dog will probably require a period of adjustment in a new home. Many of them have been through some trauma and will need patience and love during their settling in time. This may take as much as a month or two.

We are serious when we say that English Setters NEED a fenced in area in which to run freely.  Leash walking is NOT enough for this breed, and they cannot be trusted off lead.  This is not a dog you can take to the park and let loose and expect them to stay within boundaries and come back.

English Setters as a breed cannot tolerate harsh discipline, or even any prolonged withdrawal of affection. If your personality is not geared toward a "soft" dog such as this, consider another breed. Setters thrive in an environment of love and constant affection, they typically don't need "disciplined"; gentle correction is sufficient.

Listen to what the dog's foster home tells you! Be honest with yourself and us about what you can truly handle.

This is not a for-profit venture. Many times we lose money on an adoption. We do this for the sole reason that we love English Setters. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs and families. Because we save these dogs and keep them in our homes, we become emotionally attached them. We are the dog's advocates; they can't do it for themselves. Please understand if we feel a particular dog might not be a match. We will try to match dogs up with the human we feel best suited for them

Adoption fees are $250.00 for our dogs. Puppies are $300.00

If you're ready to proceed, fill out an application!
